How to Reheat Churros?

If you want to know how to reheat churros then read my secret tips below.

Nothing is better than a warm churro dipped in a pool of chocolate or caramel dipping sauce.

Churros are the perfect mix of flour, salt and cinnamon sugar culminating in a warm and crispy snack for anytime. But, how do you reheat a churro and maintain the same crispness and flavor you experienced when they were freshly made?

To start, make sure to place any left over churros in a sealed container and store them in the refrigerator. This prevents the churros from going stale and losing any moisture.

There are two very simple methods for reheating churros. You can use either an oven or a microwave. Reheating in an oven provides the best results but, if you are looking for a faster method, a microwave would be the more efficient option.

How to Reheat in the Oven:

To reheat in the oven, first preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.

Using a baking sheet, wrap the churros in aluminum foil and place them in the center of the sheet.

Wrapping the churros in aluminum foil helps to prevent the churros from drying out or becoming too hard. It also helps prevent the churros from sticking to the baking sheet.

Using the top or middle rack, place the baking sheet in the oven and set a timer for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes has passed, check the churros to see if they are warm.

If they still need some time place them back in the oven for no more than 5 minutes. You want to avoid over cooking the churros in order to prevent them from loosing too much moisture, therefore making them too hard to eat.

How to Reheat Churros in the Microwave:

If you are pressed for time, a microwave is the quicker option. To begin, wet a paper towel and ring it out leaving it slightly damp.

Wrap the churros in the paper towel and place them in the microwave. Make sure to use a microwave safe plate. Wrapping the churros in the damp towel helps protect them from getting hard and dry by locking all of the the moisture in.

Churros

Depending on the amount of churros being reheated, place them in the microwave on low for 2-3 minutes or until the churros are warm throughout.

Once finished, remove the churros from the microwave and un-wrap the paper towels immediately in order to avoid them getting stuck to the churros.

And there you have it! Your churros are ready to be served again in only a few minutes.

For some extra flair, sprinkle some more cinnamon sugar on the churros after reheating to add a fresh layer of flavor and use a chocolate, caramel or nutella dipping sauce to give it an extra kick. Enjoy!

How Long do Churros Last

Churros are a delicious Spanish treat that can be enjoyed at any time of day. But how long do they last?

Well, it depends on how you store them. If you keep them in an airtight container, they will last for up to 2 weeks. But if you leave them out in the open, they will only last for a few days.

So, if you want to enjoy your churros for as long as possible, make sure to store them in an airtight container!
