How to Reheat a Big Mac?

For more than half a century, hungry diners everywhere have been enjoying Big Mac sandwiches from McDonald’s restaurants. For various reasons, people sometimes need to reheat one of these delicious sandwiches, but are unsure of how to reheat a Big Mac.

One of the many good things about eating a Big Mac is that you get to eat hot and cold textures together. There are two warm, beef patties, a soft, three-part, toasted sesame seed bun, crisp lettuce, pickles, cheddar cheese and special sauce on each sandwich.

While the combination of ingredients in the Big Mac produces a very tasty sandwich, figuring out how to reheat a Big Mac requires just a little bit of effort.

Basically, there are three different ways you can reheat one of these classic sandwiches.

Using the Microwave Oven to Reheat a Big Mac

Utilizing a microwave oven to reheat a Big Mac is certainly the fastest way to do so. It’s best to keep an eye on the sandwich, because it can heat pretty quickly, despite its large size.

If you decide to reheat a whole Big Mac in a microwave oven, be aware that some parts may heat faster than others.

Also, the sandwich does contain fresh lettuce. If you choose to leave the lettuce on the sandwich, it can become slightly soggy.

You can always remove the lettuce prior to heating the sandwich, then put it back on after the sandwich has been reheated.

By cutting the Big Mac in half or in quarters, the sandwich pieces will heat quicker, and you can fairly easily remove the lettuce before reheating.

Using a Conventional Oven

Using a conventional oven to reheat a Big Mac is an option that works okay, but it’s easy to overcook the sandwich.

The best way to reheat the sandwich is to wrap it loosely in aluminum foil, then place it in a low-temperature, preheated oven for approximately five minutes.

As with the microwave oven method, cutting the sandwich into smaller pieces can improve the process.

Heat Just The Burgers

When you basically deconstruct a Big Mac and remove the burger patties for reheating separately, the results can be quite pleasing. The bun stays nice and soft and the lettuce remains crisp.

The burgers can be heated in a microwave oven or a conventional oven, but you must be careful with the cooking time.

The easiest way to reheat just the burgers in the conventional oven, is to bake them on a small piece of aluminum foil at low temperature for just a couple of minutes.

If you’re reheating the burgers in a microwave oven, simply heat them on a paper towel or other microwaveable surface for just a few seconds.

Now that you know how to reheat a Big Mac, you’ll just need to decide which method works best for you.
