The Bastyr University Bookstore has offered up this fascinating book for one of our  subscribers (either those that imbibe or are just curious about imbibing)!

Ms. Stewart explores the dizzying array of herbs, flowers, trees, fruits, and fungi that humans have, through ingenuity, inspiration, and sheer desperation, contrived to transform into alcohol over the centuries.

Win this intoxicating book and learn new things!  Here’s how:

1. Be a subscriber of Cookus Interruptus Not a subscriber yet? Type your email address in the subscribe box right up there on the upper right corner of the whole website.  I check and reject any winner that’s not one of our subscribers.

  1. Looks like the perfect spring read so one has lots of ideas for summer entertaining. Or so one can simply entertain themselves!

  2. Sloe gin and tonic or Elderberry tequila sunrise. I make my own sloe gin and elderberry cordial especially!

  3. A virgin elderberry spritzer floats my boat and I imagine a shot of vodka would spike it up a bit too. Maybe instead of syrup I should try fermenting the next batch of elderberries……
