Book Giveaway: Theo Chocolate

CONTEST CLOSED. THANKS EVERYONE. Oh my goodness. The LOVELY folks at local chocolate masters, Theo, are providing a divine holiday giveaway for Cookus Interruptus subscribers.

First there’s this gorgeous book of chocolate recipes. Both sweet and savory delights, along with the fascinating story of how North America’s first organic and Fair Trade chocolate factory came to be (and why they are so passionate about how their chocolate is made).

But that’s not all! The winner will also receive TWO baking bars (85% dark chocolate and 70% dark chocolate) and a box of nibs! Win win and (chocolate) WIN!

Here’s how to enter:

1. Be a subscriber of Cookus Interruptus Not a subscriber yet? Type your email address in the subscribe box right up there on the upper right corner of the whole website.  I check and reject any winner that’s not one of our subscribers.

2. Be a friend on Cookus Interruptus facebook. Not our facebook friend? Easy. Go to the Cookus Facebook page and click the thumbs up “like”.

3.  What is your favorite dish to make with dark chocolate? The most decadent, close my eyes and eat slowly with a spoon dish I desire would be flourless chocolate cake. I like making it with a touch of cinnamon and chili. Today, however, I’m pulled to make chocolate covered coconut macaroons. Easy peasy to make and so satisfying. Okay.  YOUR TURN.   Type your answer as a comment to this post.

4. Contest ends at 5 pm on December 12 . PLEASE check your email on December 13th. The junk mail folder and everything.  We’ve been having some trouble with lost emails to winners. The winners will be chosen by random.org. If you don’t respond to your “winner” email within 48 hours, we will choose a new winner (tough love…).

  3. I am eagerly awaiting pear ripeness so I can make a favorite chocolate pear pudding. Cozy and restorative.

[I’m not on Facebook, but I am a long-time subscriber. Do I count?]

  4. Chocolate peanut butter eggs with coconut oil. Or chocolate hazelnut brownies. Or chocolate cake with dark chocolate whipped cream frosting. There’s really no end to the favorites with dark chocolate.

  5. There’s a dark chocolate beet cake from David Lebovitz that is just wonderful, not too sweet, decadent and delicious.

  10. Fudge. Mint fudge. Chocolate chip cookies, brownies, Rapunzel’s brownies, Sin Cake ((almost flourless), ice cream sauce……and just eating.

  11. Oh, I love dark chocolate by itself, but my favorite way to use it is in peppermint bark. I make up a big batch every year for Christmas and it is amazing! I have to make a bigger batch every year.

  12. Truffles with coconut oil, dark chocolate, almond butter, maple syrup and a bit of peppermint essential oil. Yum! Theo’s is so delicious. I am excited they have a cookbook out.

  13. I’ve been tweaking a recipe for dark chocolate cookies (not too sweet) with a touch of cayenne pepper. They were the “belle of the ball” at my last gathering, according to one attendee.

  14. Dark chocolate peppermint bark, just melt the chocolate spread it on parchment paper and sprinkle broken up candy canes on it. Last year we also swirled some white chocolate into it. Mmmmmmm!

  15. So many yummy things, so little time. Right now, it’s a toss up between flourless chocolate cake and peanut butter oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.

  16. Hard to choose one thing, but I would have to say Mexican Chocolate cake (made with cinnamon, red chile, and strong coffee) with think creamy fudge frosting.

  17. No dark chocolate recipes…sometimes I’ll mix walnuts, dark chocolate, oats, coconut flakes and dried fruit for a snack!

  18. I love making chocolate dipped chocolate mint cookies….similar to those super expensive little boxes sold door to door in the spring 🙂

  19. Everyday: Truffles………November and December…chocolate chip croissants….last thing my husband ate before walking off this earth and he remarked how good they were…so I celebrate his memory on both his birthday and his deathday with his favourite chocolate! <3

  20. I was the winner of the Nourished Kitchen cookbook–thank you very much! The night it arrived I happened to have salmon and cream in the fridge (cream because it was after Thanksgiving) so I immediately made the recipe for salmon baked in cream. Even without using fresh herbs it called for (Thanksgiving time, remember?) it was incredibly good. Possibly the best salmon I have ever made. Thanks again!
